While she most recently served as the Executive Director over HR & Talent Selection For Mercy Health, Tammy Hager has worked with a variety of multi-specialty physician practices, hospital-based clinics and health systems and has a successful track record in practice operations.  

Prior to Mercy, she was the Executive Director for practice operations and physician recruitment for Carilion Clinic for almost fourteen years and then became Director of Physician and Client Operations at Practice Link where she helped to triple the revenue for the organization within a few short years.  

Tammy is known for her ability to develop, coach, mentor and teach others and strives to improve the performance of people and organizations.  Her positive and optimistic attitude helps to create a stimulating workplace with an “upbeat feeling.”  Her business focus helps her to think “big picture” and often people are taken by surprise with her strength of observation.  She has been known for recognizing the whole picture in terms of the needs of a team, department and organization.

Tammy earned her bachelor’s degree and MBA from Liberty University with an emphasis in healthcare management.  Additionally, she is both a Fellow with the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment, a Fellow with the Advisory Board Company, a Certified Medical Staff Recruiter By the American Academy of Medical Management and obtained a Certificate in Professional Leadership from The Batten Leadership Institute at Hollins University.

Tammy is married to her husband Darrell and they have two children.  Their son Clint lives in Martinsville, VA and works for Norfolk and Southern Railroad and their daughter Stephanie lives in Missouri and works for the company PracticeMatch.
