The Kids Are Not Alright: Taking the Pulse of College Students During COVID-19

College Reaction has released a new poll which surveyed students across the US on how they are handling the ongoing crisis. They looked at mental health, distance learning, finances, and - of note to our readers - employment. With a sample size of of 822, the margin of error for the full sample is +/- 3.4 points.

Among the findings:

• Of those with jobs, 75% had their work canceled, moved remote, or delayed.

          • 38% were canceled, 37% were moved remote or delayed.

• 90% are concerned about the US economy and job market.

In addition, the poll reflected disparities based on race:

  • 81% of Asian students had summer job plans
  • 70% of White students had summer job plans
  • 71% of Hispanic students had summer job plans
  • 59% of Black students had summer job plans
