Steve Jacobs was recently promoted to Manager of Physician Recruitment for Einstein Healthcare Network (EHN) in Philadelphia, PA. For the past 19 months he served as the Sr. Physician Recruiter for EHN.
Steve has been a manager and director of physician recruiter for the past 18 years. He started his career as a physician recruitment consultant in 2003 before moving to an in-house position in 2008.
Prior to Einstein, he spent 5 years as one of the Physician Recruiters for WellSpan Health based in York, PA. Prior to WellSpan Steve was the Director of Physician Recruitment for Genesis Healthcare in Zanesville, OH and the founding Physician Recruiter for Kaweah Delta Healthcare District in Visalia, CA.
Steve is known for his ability to develop in-house physician recruitment programs, coach, mentor and teach others, present nationally on topics related to physician recruitment, and build processes and protocols that enhance the physician recruitment experience of candidates and customers alike. His enthusiasm and passion drive his ambition to push physician recruitment into the spotlight as a profession.
Steve is also currently the president of the Mid-Atlantic Physician Recruiters Alliance, a non-profit group of 120+ physician and APP recruiters, onboarding specialists and sourcing specialists in DE, NJ, VA, WV, DC, PA and MD. MAPRA's mission is dedicated to advancing the professional development of health care recruiters in the Mid-Atlantic region through networking, education and collaboration.
Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of California, Irvine and his MA in clinical psychology from Alliant International University in San Diego. Additionally, since 2008, he is a Fellow with the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment (AAPPR), a past committee fellowship co-chair for AAPPR and a contributor to the AAPPR magazine ROAR.
Steve is married to his wife Laura (20 yrs) and they have three children and live in Lititz, PA. Their daughter Lauren is 25 in July and attends college in Bozeman, MT. Their son Ben will be 20 in March and attends college in PA. Their daughter Emma will be 14 in May and is currently in the eighth grade. Steve is an avid soccer referee, golfer, Gardner, and scotch/cigar aficionado.
