Several industry heavyweights announced layoffs late last week. Holmdel, NJ base iCIMS is reportedly laying off 10% of its employees. This included a meeting concerning the layoffs and hiring freeze, where CEO Steve Lucas was reportedly pressed hard by concerned staff about future plans. New York City based Greenhouse is laying off 28% of its workforce, according to a blog-post by CEO & co-founder Daniel Chait.

Workday is in the midst of adjusting. There are multiple reports of hiring freezes. All European internship offers have been rescinded and all other internships globally are being reconsidered, new reqs are not being opened, and there is a reported freeze in software engineering hiring.

In addition, we are seeing hiring freezes and/ or layoffs reported at the following industry organizations:

  • CareerBuilder (hiring freeze & layoffs)
  • Oracle (global hiring freeze, reports of layoffs)
  • HackerRank (hiring freeze)
  • Yello (hiring freeze)
  • Namely (hiring freeze)
  • Zenefits (layoffs)
  • Ultimate Software (hiring freeze)
Multiple vendors reporting layoffs.
