The Buzz: Investments in the space have shifted towards technologies that allow companies to hire, onboard, train, engage, and manage employees near-fully digitally. Look for more traditional players to roll out enhancements to their existing offerings to keep pace. Paradox, which recently announced a series B round and leadership expansion, rolled out a virtual events solution at the end of March. Platforms which target employers going through surge hiring are also catching the eyes of invstors.

From HRWins:

FINLAND-BASED HAPPEO RAISES $12M FUNDING ROUND FOR ITS SOCIAL INTRANET

Fiinland-based Happeo is the latest intranet to announce a funding round during the COVID-19 crisis raising a USD $12 Million Series A.

GERMANY-BASED MEDWING RAISES USD $30.7 MILLION SERIES B FOR ITS HEALTHCARE JOB BOARD MARKETPLACE

In addition to a platform that includes a pool of potential hires, a candidate matching system, and a tool for scheduling interviews and individual shifts, the company offers career consultation for healthcare professionals. So far over 200,000 have registered with Medwing, who provides the service for free to individuals and is paid by its 2,500 partner hospitals once a candidate is hired.

BONUSLY RAISES $9 MILLION SERIES A FOR REWARDS AND RECOGNITION APP

Like every app on the fringes of employee engagement, Bonusly seems to be targeting its messaging to employee experience and now in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis toward keeping employees connected.
