Companies are being pushed to change their requirements for cyber jobs - According to the Wall Street Journal companies worldwide will need to grow their cyber security professionals by almost 90%. But companies are asked far too much for far too little. One candidate who was interviewed said though having a doctorate and military experience in the field he was approached with entry level positions. Some entry level positions posted to Indeed are asking for 7 years experience, with some listing starting pay at $20000-$50000 per year. It may be tricky to hire people who can get more for doing less.
Expect more driver-hiring: DoorDash Inc. disclosed Monday that it has set terms of its initial public offering, in which the app-based food-delivery platform is looking to raise up to $2.81 billion. In its IPO prospectus, DoorDash reported a 50% U.S. market share in local food delivery logistics, compared with 26% for Uber Eats, 16% for Grubhub and 7% for Postmates. Granted Uber just completed its acquisition of Postmates, so they're edging up in market share, but DoorDash remains dominant. And now, with additional revenue streams due to deals with retailers like CVS Health, they are poised to become the dominant omnisource delivery service.

UK Furlough Scheme extended The UK Government has announced that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (also known as the furlough scheme) will be extended until March 31, 2021. After furlough ends, it is not clear whether the government will decide to revisit the Job Support Scheme, a far less generous offering to cover some of the hours of workers in companies still struggling during the pandemic. So far, it has been postponed.

Amazon is hiring union-busters In case you missed it, Amazon said the quiet part out loud when it comes to their feelings about unions: they seem to fear them. A lot. This job listing sat on LinkedIn for days in September, and wasn't the first time it's been spotted. Maybe they actions between UFCW and ShopRite explain the "hazard bonuses" of $100-$300 dollars (pre-tax) per employee they're giving out all of a sudden.
