News on the D&I front. Giselle Ruiz, who up until recently was Talent Acquisition Business Partner at Tik Tok, has moved to WME (formerly known as William Morris Endeavor Entertainment). Prior to Tik Tok, she held leadership roles in talent acquisition at The Broad Institute and Disney, including Head of Diversity Sourcing at Google, and Business Partner for D&I at Facebook.

Ruiz will work with senior leaders to assist in recruitment and retention efforts and engagement with strategic partnerships meant to support diversity, equity and inclusion goals. WME said Ruiz’s skill set will be “instrumental to the agency’s commitment to be an anti-racist and ally-oriented company.”

Ruiz will help oversee recruitment, retention and strategic partnerships to drive the agency’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.

WME naming a head of inclusion follows social justice protests across the U.S. and calls for action across the entertainment industry for more inclusion in Hollywood and investment in diverse stories and storytellers, along with better representation in the executive and talent agency ranks.
