AI is the defining driver of modern business. As algorithms continue to be embedded in every phase of talent acquisition and workforce management, they’re reshaping not only processes but also people’s perceptions of opportunity and career security. 24 Seven’s newly released AI Impact Report: How Marketing, Creative & Tech Teams are Transforming unpacks how AI adoption is accelerating efficiency, fueling fears and demanding fresh staffing strategies. The report is based on responses from nearly 1,000 professionals across multiple industries, and it spotlights a significant shift toward more flexible talent models.

For talent solutions firms and staffing agencies, understanding quickly evolving AI-driven dynamics is essential to advising clients, crafting candidate pipelines and gaining (and maintaining) an advantage in an increasingly automated arena.

Consider these notable report findings:

An overwhelming majority (91%) of those surveyed said their organizations now use AI daily, yet 32% still describe their workforce’s AI fluency as basic or very limited. When hiring for AI roles, 34% cite talent shortages as their company’s primary challenge, while 29% struggle to assess whether candidates possess genuine AI skills.

In other words, your clients can’t reliably evaluate what they desperately need — and this assessment crisis is a huge competitive opening for staffing firms. The key is developing proprietary AI assessment methodologies, partnering with reputable AI platforms, creating skills evaluations and building project-based testing. Being able to confidently distinguish true AI expertise from rote familiarity is an incredibly valuable differentiator, particularly when so many organizations are having such great difficulty doing this themselves.

The Market Has Already Moved

In the past year, 79% of survey respondents said their organizations had created entirely new job titles for AI functions, while 86% plan to hire for brand new AI-focused roles in the next 12 months. These are not modified positions; they’re categories of work that didn’t exist before.

The financial commitments being made further reflects the urgency around AI: 75% of organizations increased their AI talent budgets from last year despite economic uncertainty.
